To all Nicholas Sparks fans out there...there's a second book signing event at Powerbooks, Greenbelt 4 on October29, 11am. But before you go there, here are a few reminders from the event organizers:

1. Due to time constraints, Nicholas Sparks will only sign 200 copies of THE BEST OF ME (Hard Cover). These are books which will be sold on the day of the event.

2. These books will go on sale upon store opening at 10am. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

3. There will be no reservations. Nicholas Sparks will NOT sign anything else. ( So strict, huh?)

4. There will be no limit to the number of books each person can buy.( Wait a minute..if I were the person first on line and I buy the 200 books for my friends - which is the minimum number of books he will sign - wouldn't be that unfair to the people next in line? Just asking! haha)

Glee Project:Episode 8-Believability

When I saw the teaser for Episode 7 (Sexuality),I really expected Cameron was the one who wanted to quit the show. The last episode showed that he was really conservative and uncomfortable with intimate scenes. I was a bit disappointed but I realized that perhaps he is more of a singer rather than an actor. His rendition of "Black Bird" was really nice. It was a good final song for him. I'm now rooting for Damian. Although right now, I think Hannah will emerge as the winner because Ryan once said that the winner was not the one you would normally expect to win. She's the underdog right now so i think she'll turn out to be the winner.

Crazy Over Nude Platform Shoes

After seeing Princess Kate wear a pair of nude LK Bennett shoes, I thought I was the only one obsessed with getting a pair also. Apparently everyone including members of the royal family are into nude shoes too. This was pretty evident during the wedding of Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Phillips and rugby star, Mike Tindall.

Here's my own version of nude shoes from VNC (P 2,210). The difference with this pair is that the lining at the bottom is painted red unlike Kate's which is totally nude.

L.K. Bennett Shoes

My obsession with Princess Kate's style started out when she was photographed wearing nude stilletos during her US/Canada trip.It looked good on her that I wanted to buy a pair too. Of course, I'll just buy a pair with similar style but cheaper since I can't afford the real thing ( I later found out that they were L.K. Bennett Sledge Platform Court Shoes.)

I then came across to 2 wonderful websites WHATKATEWORE and KATEMIDDLETONSTYLE that feature all of Kate's clothes, shoes and bags. I think every designer would want to dress up Kate because products get sold out immediately after people see Kate wearing them.

Episode 6: Tenacity (Under Pressure/Ice Ice Baby)
I didn't expect Marissa to get booted out this week. But I'd rather see her go than Cameron. When you think about it...there are other pretty girls already in Glee so I don't think she can offer something new. Alex, on the other hand, stayed because of his talent. But in terms of attitude, I don't find him endearing or loveable.
Before this episode, I never thought that getting slushied was a big thing. But when I saw how the cast reacted, i thought it wasn't a nice thing to experience after all.
Damian looked cute in the video. Cameron acted his usually self of course...geeky! :)

My first impression was that they were sort of a group of misfits. I later realized that that was what the people behind the Glee Project was looking for. I love CROCS. I'm not into branded stuff but this one is an exception. They are super comfortable to wear that I wear them almost everyday even at work. You can easily wash and dry them whenever they get wet from the rain without worrying about shoe odor.If only I have all the money in the world, I would have bought all of the styles in different colors. CROCS is actually expensive in the Philippines. If only I was in the US, it would have been easier to buy them because they're cheaper. For example, a pair of Gold/Chocolate Lily is P2,465 ( $55; $1=P45) in Manila outlets while in the US, they have it on sale at P900 ($19.99; $1=P45). Imagine the big difference between prices. And if ever they go on sale in Manila, the lowest is usually at P1,550 ( $34).

The judges of American Idol seem really nice this season...They're so nice that it's getting boring for me...I still miss Simon. Good thing there's a Filipina, Thia Megia, who passed the auditions. I actually didn't like her audition. For me, she was trying too hard. I guess the judges were told that she was in America's Got Talent. ..that might have given her the additional points. It would be interesting to see her in the top 10. :)

American Idol Season 10

It's American Idol Season again! The first episode will start this evening and I'm wondering if I'm going to enjoy the show as much as when Simon and Paula were still part of the show. I'll probably watch its first few episodes to satisfy my curiousity...probably check out J Lo's outfits and bling! ha!ha! As for J Lo's criticisms, I'm not sure if I'm going to like it or not...I mean she doesn't have that powerful voice (compared to other singers) so for me, I don't think she has the right to give comments. I also hope another Fil-Am will make it to the Top 10 so that it would be more exciting to watch.

Cebu Pacific's Dancing Flight Attendants

A new viral video is now spreading fast across cyberspace from Philippine's Cebu Pacific Airlines. Instead of the usual simple demonstration of safety procedures, flight attendants dance to Lady Gaga's "Let's Dance" and Katy Perry's "California Gurls" while a pre-recorded voice-over is heard giving out the safety instructions. Whoever thought of this marketing scheme is pure genius!!!

Charice in Glee

I first saw Charice Pempengco in a singing competition on ABS-CBN entitled Little Big Star. At that time, I was already amazed by her big voice. But like any other Filipino, I didn’t expect her to win because compared to the other competitors, her looks wasn’t celebrity material. In a country full of great singers, one has to stand out in the looks department to be noticed. The judges also thought that way too and so she was proclaimed 2^nd runner up. But lucky Charice was destined to be a star. Despite that particular setback, Korea’s Star King, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah and David Foster saw the “star” in her. Her TV appearance in Ellen’s show led her to a series of TV guestings and concerts. She also was able to release her first international album already. Just this week, I watched her TV appearance in the first episode of GLEE: Season Two. I was never a fan of Glee. Charice is the only reason why I took the time to watched it. And although I was one of those people who thought that she wouldn’t be able to make it in showbiz before, I would have to eat my words now and say that she really is star on her own. And I’m so proud of her.

Yehey! The long wait is over! I'm soooo glad that Payless Shoesource has a branch near my place. I can go there anytime I want without the super crowd of Megamall.

As expected, the layout of the store is so similar to that of the US branches. All shoes are arranged by size so you can just pick out a pair of shoes and try them on without asking for your size from the sales lady. I love their bags and the wallets...even the bangles I super love too!!!!!!!!!! The cheapest pair of shoes that I got to try was worth P600+ which is okay to me since you have to pay for the shipment. Anyway, what I love about PAYLESS is that you get to buy really affordable stylish shoes!!! I super miss the great deals in California where I was able to buy shoes worth $6 ( I'm not joking!) but since I will not be travelling anytime soon, PAYLESS Ali Mall is heaven for me! :)

I saw this video when the link was posted in twitter. At that time, it only had 300 views. A few days after, it has captured the interest of many youtube viewers. The video has now 1, 857, 172 hits today.

What's nice about this video is that it shows how Venus Raj has affected the lives of many Filipinos. The viewers are able to witness 4 friends who went crazy when Venus Raj was announced to be part of the top 15 in the Miss Universe pageant. I too was really ecstatic when I found out that she got in the top15 but these 4 guys..i mean gays...were hilarious! :)

I had a quite an interesting night with a few friends and new acquaintances. I don't know if it's because the food was delicious or if I was just plain hungry because I managed to eat everything on the platter - pasta, chicken, fish, pork...even the dessert!

My only complaint about the place ( I will not tell na lang the location) is that it was too dark and musty. I was so scared to put my legs under the table because I might get bitten by a dengue carrier mosquito. ha!ha!

Well, I enjoyed the food but I don't like the ambience. I don't think I'll ever come back again to the place! :)

Major Major Happy For Venus Raj!

Days before the Miss Universe Coronation Night, I came across a website which listed the contestants who made it to the Top 15. I really thought that that was the Top15 already. So I was really surprised when I found out that Miss Philippines, Venus Raj, was a finalist! From the swimwear to the evening gown portion, I knew already that she was a standout. My mom even said that if Venus Raj would make it to the Top5, she had a good chance of winning the title.

But alas, nerves got into Venus Raj and she was not able to explain well her answer to the judges. One of the judges, William Baldwin, asked her about the biggest mistake that she made in her life and what she did to make it right. And she answered ""You know what, Sir in my 22 years of existence I can say that there is nothing major major, I mean, problem that I have done in my life. Because I am very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So, thank you so much that I am here, thank you thank you so much,"

Venus Raj's answer was okay for me but she could have said it better. I think Miss Mexico had an edge because she answered the question in her native language so she didn't have a hard time putting her thoughts into words. I bet if she tried to answer in english, she might have committed a "major major" boo-boo also.

Anyway, I'm still proud of Venus Raj. At least, she made the Miss Universe competition pretty interesting to watch this year. To be top 5 out of 83 contestants is a "major major" feat already. And even if she wasn't crowned as Miss Universe, at least, we can call her Miss Twitverse because she was the number 1 trending topic this morning in twitter worldwide and even her "major major" comment also landed in the top10.

Payless in Ali Mall

I was at Ali Mall (Cubao) today and I came across a soon-to-be PAYLESS shoesource store. Yipee!!!! I enjoyed shopping at PAYLESS when I was in California visiting my cousins. I think it's US version of SM's Parisian shoes. You get designer-like shoes at a much cheaper price. But I guess the shoes will be much more expensive here in the Philippines because of the shipment and taxes. Anyway, I was able to take a glimpse of the store and the layout really looks like that of the US stores. I think they're going to arrange the shoes according to the sizes also. I'm going to visit the store next week to check it out again! :)

Miss Universe 2010: Venus Raj

If the winner for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant will be based on online voting only, our very own Miss Philippines, Venus Raj, will emerge as number 1. I visited the Miss Universe website today and found out that Venus has a score of 3.67 (4 stars). In fact, she's the only contestant who has a score of 3+. Filipinos really know how to show their support to their "kababayan"! ha!ha!

Kidding aside, Venus Raj, is really a standout. I've seen her pictures in the newspapers and online and I must say, she's got it! I just hope the judges also appreciate her beauty. I hope she enters the Top 10. It's not exciting to watch the pageant if your bet is not a finalist, right? :)

I had a good laugh awhile ago when I read this news in Reality Rocks about Simon Cowell's blacklisted songs in " The X Factor". I also noticed that in American Idol. There are certain songs that contestants like to sing over and over again during their audition. It would be nice if I won't hear songs like "And I'm telling you, I'm not going", " I don't want to miss a thing" or " Don't let the sun go down on me" again in this show. These songs could have been nice song choices during the earlier seasons but now they're too boring already!!!

For almost 4 years now, I've completely fallen in-love with korean celebrities. Blame it on Lee Dong Wook who starred in the TV series, My Girl. Ever since I laid eyes on him, I slowly shifted my preference from hollywood TV series and movies to Korean TV Series.

Last year, I was temporarily smittened with Twilight's Edward Cullen. But after a few weeks, I was back to my korean addiction.

Things changed again a few weeks ago when I watched Amy Adam's LEAP YEAR. The leading man was cute and his face was so familiar to me but I couldn't quite pinpoint where I first saw him. At the end of the movie, I saw the credits...and I found out the name behind the cute face....MATTHEW GOODE. I googled him immediately and I discovered that he was the leading man in Mandy Moore's 2004 film, CHASING LIBERTY. It's funny because I already had a crush on him back then but I didn't make an effort to know his name! :)

Anyway, I'm in-love with him now and I'm looking forward to watching all of his other films.

Cherry and Vanilla-flavored Coke!

I went grocery shopping with my mom at Subic's PureGold this weekend and I found these two variants of Coke - cherry-flavored and vanilla-flavored coke. I don't know if I'm just not that observant but the only time I remembered seeing these was when I was in the US. Anyway, I decided to give them a try and see which is better.
Verdict: Coke Zero tastes way better than these two! ha!ha!
Drinking them is like drinking flavored Hydrite or Pedialyte..the ones we drink when we have diarrhea!

Trying To Get My Voice Back

I've been absent for work for the past two days because of Acute Laryngitis. Acute Laryngitis is the inflammation of the larynx or voice box which causes hoarseness or loss of voice. The most common cause of this illness is Upper Respiratory Tract Infection like common colds which is caused by a virus. I initially had a sorethroat and then developed cough and colds. I guess it was also my fault that I didn't take any decongestant right away and I continued drinking cold sodas even if I was sick. I eventually developed hoarseness and then loss of my voice. Because of this, I had to be absent because my job requires me to talk to people all the time!!!

There are 2 ways to hasten recovery from Acute Laryngitis:
1. Hydration - Drinking at least 8-12 glasses of water daily is important. Lemon juice is also beneficial. My lifesaver right now is the Ceylon teabags which I got from Marks and Spencer that I mix with Calamansi concentrate. It tastes so good that I usually drink two cups in one seating. This is what I've been drinking lately instead of my favorite cold soda (coke) or iced tea (nestea). Another remedy is by drinking ginger tea 3-5 times a day. Boil fresh ginger in water for 30 minutes. Let it cool and mix it with a honey.

2. Steam - To help the throat stay moist, steam inhalation is recommended. You just fill a bowl with the hot water. Drape a towel around your head and lean over the bowl. Breathe deeply for 10 minutes.

Feeding my Vanity: Ultrapeel Day

I underwent Ultra Peel procedure today. It's a procedure wherein the dermatologist performs several applications of 10% TCA on your problematic areas. The skin will peel by itself for several days resulting to a lighter, smoother skin surface.

And where are my problematic areas?.... dan-da-ran.....my dark underams and elbows! ha!ha!

Dark underarms are mainly caused by shaving and using deodorants that contain harsh ingredients that can darken the skin. I've been doing these for several months...years now... and so I have to face the consequences ...dark underarms!!!!!!!

Ideally, laser hair removal is the recommended procedure to solve the problem of constant shaving, plucking or waxing. But of course, if you can't have the laser treatment, then waxing or plucking is the next best thing. And because I'm super lazy(!!!!!), I just resorted to the easiest thing to do...shaving! So guys...take it from me...don't shave!!!! ha!ha!

And for the deodorants or anti-perspirants, I've always been trying out new products that would suit me...Even those with "glutathione" which they say can lighten the skin....but I see no change at all!!! So now, I'm going to use Milcu underarm powder as recommended because it doesn't have any additional harsh chemicals or fragrance that can darken the skin.

Now, if you're using Milcu but has a problem with excessive perspiration, I also have a solution for that but that's another blog entry! :)

Out of the blue, my sister suggested that I change my skin regimen this morning. Probably it's because I've always complimented that her skin has become more radiant and clearer now. So to help me in my quest for finer and blemish-free face (ha!ha!), she instructed me to use the following:

1. green transparent soap with salicylic acid to clean my face
2. Nuderm Supreme Lightening Clarifiance Toner - 2x a day
3. Clindamycin Solution - 2 x day
4. Nuderm Dermage 0.05% cream - at night

Of course, she also reminded me to always wear sunscreen everytime I go out. Right now, I'm using Floxia cream which is both a sunscreen (with SPF 50) and skin tint.

Melason In Love

I'm super excited about MELASON's new realiserye, MELASON in LOVE. It will start tomorrow from Monday to Friday, 10 am at ch2 with replays at 630 pm (ch23) and saturdays at 10pm (ch2). It's a good thing I don't have work tomorrow morning so I'll be able to watch the initial telecast! Yipee!

Melason really changed my internet life. I am what they call an official MELASOn fantard now! ha!ha! Instead of blogging, my free time is now spent on browsing the net for Melason news and videos.

I'm looking forward to the Big Night when either of them will be announced as the big winner. Hopefully I can resume my normal "blogging" life by then. :)

It's been a long time since I last posted in this blog. It's because I've been following Pinoy Big Brother Double Up on TV, livestream and internet. For more almost 2 months, I've lost interest and time in blogging! ha!ha!

I've always been a fan Pinoy Big Brother. I usually watch the primetime episodes religiously during the first few weeks and then midway, I would lose interest (because I'd get irritated with the housemates) and then just watch the Big Night to see whoever wins.

But this time it's different. I think PBB Double Up is the best season ever! And I attribute it to 2 housemates who've really captured my heart, Melissa and Jason! (MELASON). These two housemates make a really funny tandem. Their story is about two simple people who met, became friends and eventually fell in love with each other. I'm looking forward to seeing them in the Big4. And the way things are going, it would be interesting to see them as a real couple outside the PBB house and also in showbiz too! :)

My Baby Girl's Day Out!

Today I spent quality time with my baby girl...shih tzu! :)
I carried her in her doggie bag and she patiently stayed in the bag the whole time I heard mass.My baby is so well-behaved that she is mistaken as a stuff toy most of the time. She hardly barks and she doesn't make any noise while in church so I always bring her on Sundays when I hear mass.
After a quick breakfast in a nearby fastfood restaurant, I went to the Pet Village in Tiendesitas so that she can be groomed. I left her at Chairopink and after one and a half hours of grocery shopping at Hypermart, I picked her up. I spent P500 for her grooming.
I then proceeded to Animal House (Ortigas) for her vaccinations. She had her usual deworming and received her yearly Rabies shot and her 5 in 1 vaccine which included protection against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus. It was traumatic for me seeing her admitted at Animal House due to viral infection at 2 months old so I make sure that she gets her shots regularly as protection. I also bought her favorite Hill's Prescription Diet which I mix with Alpo. I spent a total of P1000+ for her visit to Animal House.

I got depressed when I read the news that Paula Abdul didn't renew her contract in American Idol. I thought at that time nobody can replace her. But now I'm okay since my fave Ellen DeGeneres was chosen to be American Idol's 4th judge. Yipee!!! She's a fan of the show to the point that she always interviews not only the winner of the show but also the contestants that get booted out. She's super funny so I hope she'll be able to give out wacky, crazy but inspiring comments to the contestants.

This was i-wanna-be-an-entrepreneur day for me! ha!ha! I spent my idle moments at work looking at entrepreneur magazines...getting inspired by all the success stories....hayyy! If only I can have a business of my own too.

Yesterday I was actually contemplating on selling organic beauty products in bazaars for this coming Christmas season but now I changed my mind. And that's me....fickle-minded most of the time!!!I guess my indecisiveness will be the cause of my downfall as an entrepreneur someday! ha!ha!

As of now, I've decided to just get a franchise since I don't have any business background and I think this would be easier rather than starting on my own. And since I love siomai so much, might as well go into the food business like Siomai House or Red Ninja Dimsum. I actually have an idea where to put these stalls. But now the problem is... where will I get the money to start my business? Hmmm...HELP!!!

Tara’s Theme

This musical show is a tribute to our daughter, Tara, who died on July 27 this year at Medical City of cardiac arrest resulting from multiple-organ failure. She had hoped to recover from serious brain damage she suffered from a gunshot wound in the head in a robbery hold-up inside a passenger jeepney on her way home with a friend on August 6, 2008, her 23rd birthday. She was confined in Medical City , Ortigas where after being comatose for weeks, she slightly regained consciousness and could breathe on her own. Yet the doctors’ prognosis was that because of the gravity of the damage to her brain, she would be in a vegetative state all her life. When finally she was discharged after staying for 10 months at the hospital, she had been declared as totally and permanently disabled. On July 23, after only a little more than a month at home, we rushed her again to the hospital because of high-grade fever, low blood pressure, and fast pulse rate. Test results showed that she was already suffering from serious kidney and liver infections. She never recovered and her heart finally beat its last in the early morning of July 27.

Prior to the tragic incident, Tara, who finished her primary and secondary education in Assumption Antipolo and AB Political Science in Ateneo de Manila University in 2007, was working as a researcher for a non-government organization and was the guitarist in an all-female rock band and duo. She dabbled in music, arts, literature and short film.

This benefit concert aims:

to generate enough funds to help settle the unpaid balance of the medical bills and professional fees
and give tribute to her thru the performance of some of the music and dance that she loved.

Before I just considered dogs as guard dogs at home. But when I adopted my own shih tzu, my outlook about dogs changed. (Take note: You don't buy dogs...You adopt them! :) ) My shih tzu is the one who wakes me up every morning. She's the first one to welcome me when I come home from work. When she senses that I'm already in bed, she'll persistently scratch my bed until I place her at the foot of my bed (where lately she sleeps! ha!ha!). She is a source of joy so I, in turn, shower her with all the love and attention she needs specifically giving her a gentle belly rub, a good ear massage (ha!ha!), a tight embrace or her fave dog treat.

This award was given to me by my GT sis and fellow blogger, nicquee . I would also like to thank her for explaining what "meme" means! ha!ha! By the way, I discovered shie also tagged me on this one... so a big thanks to her too!!!

What does meme mean? In the context of web logs / 'blogs / blogging and other kinds of personal web sites it's some kind of list of questions that you saw somewhere else and you decided to answer the questions. Then someone else sees them and does them and so on and so on.

Adoration Chapel of the Pink Sisters

A trip to Tagaytay is not complete without visiting the Adoration Chapel of the Pink Sisters. My family and I would always pass by the chapel to hear mass or just to pray for a few minutes. I always believe in the power of prayers. Whenever I have a problem or I need something, I always turn to either the Pink Sisters (Tagaytay or New Manila) or the Sisters of St Claire Monastery (Katipunan) and ask them to pray for me.

As a testimony of the power of prayers, I remember when I was in high school, I went to St Claire and wrote down three wishes (which at that time were impossible to happen). I recited St Claire's novena. I even asked for the prayer assistance of the St Claire sisters and my wishes were granted eventually. My prayers were not answered immediately all at the same time. There were interval of months. I actually forgot about the list that I gave to the sisters. But one day, while visiting the monastery, I suddenly remembered and realized that all my prayers were answered. From then on, I've always believed in asking the sisters for prayer assistance.

Sunday in Tagaytay

My family and I went to Tagaytay City yesterday to unwind and see the Taal Volcano Island. It turned out to be a rainy and foggy Sunday in Tagaytay so there wasn't much to see. Anyway, at least my family spent quality time together again.

We had lunch at Taalena Bar and Restaurant.(which will always do..for us, it's just either a toss up between Taalena and Josephine Restaurant) Since it's at the Tagaytay ridge, it has a nice view of the Taal Lake and Volcano on sunny days.

Food here is similar to the Filipino food served at Dencio's and Gerry's Grill. I also noticed that the prices are a little bit higher now. (One dish is usually priced between P200+ to 300+)

These are the clearer shots I managed to get at the balcony of Taalena Restaurant. There were even occasions of zero visibility. It made me feel like I was in Baguio City.

Hooked to Entrepreneur

I got another copy of Entrepreneur magazine today. I've been hooked to this magazine since November of last year. Since then, whenever I pass by a magazine store, I would always look for more back issues. There's always some interesting stuff to read in each copy. I'm not a business course graduate so the articles are really helpful to me because I also plan to put up my own business someday. Actually until now I still don't know what business I'll put up. I want to go into the franchising business because it's less risky but then I read about other success stories of entrepreneurs who started from scratch and I get inspired to follow their footsteps..ha!ha! Anyway, whatever road I choose, hopefully I'd be successful also like them.

Rich Dad Poor Dad

I finally got a copy of Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad. I've been reading about him in the internet and how he has changed the lives of so many people by just teaching them how to handle money. My close friend is also raving about the book and even asked me to read it. Anyway, since I'm still struggling...striving HARD to have that financial security as soon as possible, I've decided to give this book a try and find out for myself what they're all talking about.
I'll write another post as soon as I finish reading the book. :)

How Old Is Old?

It seems like a simple question but it's a tough one to answer.

I don't know if my thoughts make sense, but here they are....

I think age is just a number. Saying that a person is old actually depends on which perspective you are looking at. A 10-year old girl may say that her 20-year old sibling is old but her 20-year old sibling may think otherwise.

So what does getting old means to me? For me, it means being more stable in life, being more sure of yourself and not succumbing to the usual peer pressure because you've reach the point in life that you already know who you are. You've gone through so many experiences and struggles but you hurdled them all and learned from your mistakes. Getting old means simply a state of contentment... of looking back at your life...reliving memories....appreciating life.

I just love snow globes!

I started my fascination with snow globes (waterglobes or snowdomes) after I watched the korean series, "My Girl". The lead actor, Seol Gong Chan (Lee Dong Wook) bought a snow globe for Joo Yoo Rin (Lee Da Hae) as a birthday gift. Yoo Rin grew up not knowing the exact date of her birthday and the only thing she remembered was that it was always snowing during her birthday. When Gong Chan and Yoo Rin got separated, Gong Chan would always buy snow globes every year every time it started snowing. When Gong Chan eventually found her again, he gave her all the snow globes he bought all those years they were apart. I thought that was so romantic.

Anyway, since I still don't have my Seol Gong Chan to buy me all those snow globes, I decided to just start collecting them. ha!ha! Not just simply buying them online or from a store...but I want to buy them every time I travel as remembrance to a particular place or country.

I was supposed to buy a snow globe when we visited Universal Studios Theme Park in L.A., but my cousin said that it was too expensive. He told me I should just buy from the stores outside of the theme park. I ended up not buying any because we didn't have the time to look for one. Moral of the story: If you want something, just buy it immediately! ha!ha!

Hopefully I'll get to travel again so that I can buy more snow globes.

My Weekly Dose Of IV Glutathione

Obviously I am vain. And since I am Filipina, I share the sentiments of most girls who want that whiter, clearer and glowing skin!!! Ideally I should be getting IV Glutathione weekly but because of sheer laziness and of course, my sister's busy schedule, I've been receiving it once every 2-3 weeks. Unlike, the diamond peel which I've learned to do on my own, it's impossible for me insert the needle through my vein on my own! ha!ha!

So anyway, what is glutathione?

Glutathione is the body’s master antioxidant. It is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging.

Glutathione has been shown to slow down the aging process, detoxify and improve liver function, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the chances of developing cancer. Glutathione also works to help improve mental functions, increase energy, improve concentration, permit increased exercise, and improve heart and lung function.

Skin whitening is a side effect of oral or intravenous glutathione (IV route is preferred for faster results) over the skin pigment, melanin , which is responsible for skin color and tone. Glutathione reduces stimulation of melanin which leads to a whiter skin tone or color. Effects for whitening will depend on patient's skin pigmentation . Visible effects of skin tone change are usually noticeable after the third to fourth sessions of intravenous injection of glutathione.

How To Look Good In Family Photos

I was browsing through the March 2009 issue of Reader's Digest and I came across this interesting article which I would like to share with you guys and gals! :) I think this one will be a big help to those who are fond of taking pictures and uploading them in their blogs!

The article is entitled " How To Look Good In Family Photos" written by Maya Zahran. The tips were taken from image consultant and author, Clare Maxfield.

Here are her tips:

For the face:
1. To reduce the double chin effect, stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth as you smile.
2. Keep your chin down for a flattering line. And tilt your head slightly for a more friendly and flirtatious look.
3. Say cheese. It opens your mouth to a natural smile.
4. Natural make-up is best. Rich, shiny lip-gloss can make lips appear large.
5. Have the photographer stand above you so your chin is naturally facing down and your eyes widen.

For the body:
1. Hold your elbows out from your body.
2. Give your body a slight twist. Turn your feet away from the camera and bring your body around from your waist for a slimmer and shapelier look.
3. In terms of clothing, medium-tone colors are the best and don't wear clothes with too many patterns.

Diamond Peel Day

I didn't work today because of the weather so I decided to ask my sister how to operate our diamond peel machine. We bought a portable one a few months back but I always depended on my sister to do it for me. The problem with me is that I'm just too lazy in taking care of my body (but not lazy enough to surf the net! ha!ha!)!

So what is a diamond peel machine? This is a machine which is used to improve skin texture and to lighten dark pigmentations. It helps rejuvenate the skin and at the same time, remove dead skin cells which results to a healthier and smoother skin. It also helps remove fine skin lines. To get that glowing skin faster, one session every week is the recommendation of my dermatologist (sister!).
